Contract lift vs crane hire – which is right for you?

Choose between crane hire only or a fully managed contract lift.

Our crane hire only agreement provides you with a modern, well-maintained crane complete with a CPCS qualified operator. As a hire only customer, you will plan and carry out your lifting operation yourself. This means that you take care of all aspects of site safety. You are also responsible for any issues with the ground conditions and for arranging appropriate insurance.

A contract lift from Thanet Crane Hire provides you with a fully managed service from start to finish.  Firstly, a qualified Appointed Person will visit your site to discuss your requirements and advise on the safest, most efficient and cost effective options for your project. Following this visit, you will receive a detailed Risk Assessment and Method Statement plus CAD (computer assisted drawing) crane plans. These plans clearly show the position of the working crane in relation to the local surroundings.

Contract lift customers can rely on our experience and expertise across all aspects of lifting operations. We are happy to suggest solutions where access is difficult, or recommend additional plant to support your operation. Using state-of-the-art CRANIMAX software, we accurately calculate the load bearings of the crane’s outriggers. Then we assess the ground conditions and advise if any matting arrangements are necessary for outrigger support.

We can also transport your materials, goods and equipment to and from site as well as removing any waste. Read more about our transport services.

If you require a road or lane closure, suspensions of parking spaces and/or bus stops alongside your crane provision, we offer a package to include a complete traffic management service.
