Following an oil spill in Westbere Lake near Canterbury, we provided crane and transport services to remove a contaminated pontoon.
Our new Grove GMK 3060L lifted the section of pontoon onto the waiting DAF for removal to a bund. The pontoon required specialist decontamination before being replaced in position.
The freshwater Westbere Lake is a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) and was created from gravel extraction. The area teems with birds (297 species have been identified in the area) and other wildlife.
