Our people
Crane operations are a high risk sector and health and safety is our top priority. Our operatives are trained beyond statutory requirements. We take our obligations seriously and do all we can to keep our staff, customers, subcontractors and the general public safe. We are committed to continual improvement in our knowledge and application of health, safety and welfare in the workplace.
We have worked hard to develop our Quality Management System and achieved registration to ISO 9001:2015 with a UKAS accredited body in April 2023.
Our staff have Rooftop Access and Awareness accreditation and our frontline team are also fully trained in RF Awareness.
In addition, our lifting operatives are undertaking NVQ qualifications to Blue Card standard.

Historical timeline
2009 Thanet Crane Hire takes delivery of its first crane from France, parking it much to his neighbours annoyance on Lintons driveway
By 2011 we had rented yard space and expanded our fleet to 3 cranes
2013 our first 3 axel all terrain and hiab joined the fleet
2015 we win our first major telecoms project installing new poles in rural areas, from Cornwall to Scotland
By 2020 the fleet had increased to 12 cranes and we had moved to a new yard in Chegworth pictured here with 3 generations of the current ownership
2026 we have an up to date modern fleet with 20 cranes, 3 lorries and still the same family ownership
